Drug Abuse Eradication: ‘Bodh’
‘Bodh’ (the realization), Drug abuse eradication program of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (Divine Light Awakening Mission) ,epitomizes the awakening of self in an individual. The program is exclusive for the unique services it provides in treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts. It also focuses upon imparting them preventive education and enabling them to overcome their mental obsession.
‘Bodh’ aims at reducing drug demand and transforming the drug-afflicted society into an abuse-free society, where people are mentally empowered through various psycho- spiritual tools. Counseling sessions and special workshops are held at various DJJS branches particularly for the youth that confronted with social myths and believes in trying the substance for thrill.
DJJS recognizes that addiction is a function of mind leading to a physical behavioral manifestation, hence action needs to penetrate and cure the mental obsession to alleviate an addict out of physical addiction. The only measure to achieve this is — ‘Dhyan Therapy’, eternal science of self realization. It is an over and above solution to all kinds of addictions originating on mental or physical or psychological level.
Using the instrumentality of Dhyan Therapy, DJJS has been continuously alleviating people out of drug addiction, right from its inception. Strengthening its initiative in the sector, a dedicated drug abuse eradiction program was streamlined in the year …..
Since then DJJS has undertaken various awareness- based initiatives through various platforms, across various socio- economic groups to address this issue. The organization carried out a National Drug Awareness Campaign, in Punjab, in partnership with a UN agency — United Nation Office on Drug and Crime — from 2007-2009. Apart from this, we also conducted awareness workshops in several BPOs and schools across New Delhi, Uttrakhand and Bangalore. TTT (training to trainer) initiatives have also been taken by the organisation in states of Punjab, New Delhi, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Haryana.
