Dance Workshop: ‘Taal’

It goes without saying that ‘dance is the graceful expression of the Self’. Dance is indeed a unique medium to express one’s emotions, ideas and perception merely by using various rhythmic gestures and movements. Since time immemorial, various cultures around the world have used this graceful medium of communication to convey ideas, emotions and even tell a story.

In India, Lord Shiva – originator of dance, is also known as “Nataraja”, who performs his divine moves as a part of his activities of creation and destruction. Thus, from Indian perspective, dance has basically sprouted from the heart of Spirituality and therefore, it is an indispensible part of its culture. Moreover, in India, dance for devotion is preferred to dance for profession.

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, imbued in the same spirit of devotion, holds regular dance workshops under the name ‘TAAL’. Neither its Choreographers nor the dance workshop members are professionals. They are all disciples of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, and practice Meditation and dance to the tunes of their Spiritual Heart.

‘Taal’, which means rhythm, holds dance shows at every major festival event organized by us like Shri Krishna Janmasthami, Holi Matosav, Lohri and many more.

We also conduct some of our workshops in association with SAHITYA KALA PARISHAD, Govt. of Delhi.
