Holi
Holi is a Hindu spring festival and is also called the festival of colors because people throw colors on each other and nature is also at its colorful best.
It is said that the powerful demon king Hiranyakashipu wanted to kill his son Prahlad because he was a devotee of Lord Vishnu. To kill his son, Hiranyakashipu made Prahlad sit in a burning pyre on the lap of his sister Holika. Holika had a charm that would not kill her from fire. However, to the amazement of all, Prahlad escaped unhurt by the grace of Lord Vishnu and it was Holika who got burnt in the pyre. Thus, Holi is celebrated to glorify the victory of devotion over hatred and Selfless Love over Fear.
From all around the world, the devotees of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji assemble every year, to celebrate this festival in the vast lawns of Divya Dham Ashram at Jatkhod, Delhi, India, in the auspicious presence of His Holiness. Indeed, this is the true import of the festival, wherein the Master colors the life of His disciples in the true and rich shades of Bhakti and Eternal Bliss!
