With an objective of reviving India’s sacred gau-parampara and promoting sustainable rural development, with the divine blessings of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, the Kamdhenu Gaushala was inaugurated on 18th February 2026 at Saharsa, Bihar, marking another milestone under the ‘Kamdhenu’ initiative of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan.

Echoing the eternal Vedic wisdom that reveres the cow as a symbol of nurturing motherhood prosperity, and sustainability, ‘Kamdhenu’ is a visionary program dedicated to the conserving, protecting, and scientifically breeding indigenous cows. It aims to re-establish the cow as the backbone of a sustainable society by integrating spiritual values with scientific methods. The event was graced by saints, devotees, social leaders, and local dignitaries who gathered to celebrate this noble initiative to conserve and promote indigenous cow breeds.
The inauguration ceremony began with traditional Vedic rituals, including Gau Puja and Yajna. The sacred mantras sanctified the environment and filled attendees with spiritual fervor. The atmosphere resonated with devotion, reinforcing the timeless Indian ethos. In the inaugural discourse, the DJJS representative highlighted that the Kamdhenu initiative is not merely a social program but a spiritually inspired movement integrating seva (selfless service) with sadhana (spiritual practice). At its core is the divine vision and guidance of the Guru, whose wisdom transforms service into a path of inner awakening. By promoting desi cow breeds, DJJS aims to address issues like declining cattle quality, farmer distress, and environmental degradation. The initiative also encourages organic farming by using cow-based products such as dung and urine as natural fertilizers and bioenergy sources.

Further, the DJJS representative elaborated on the spiritual significance of cow service in Indian culture. Drawing from scriptures and Lord Krishna’s teachings, the discourse emphasized that the cow is not merely an animal but a universal mother nurturing life through selfless contributions. Krishna’s association with cows is deeply symbolic, representing simplicity, love, and ecological balance. By reviving Gau culture, society can reconnect with these timeless values and restore harmony. Serving the cow leads to inner purification and aligns the individual with higher spiritual consciousness. Gau Seva forms the foundation of holistic development- spiritual, economic, and environmental.
To conclude, the DJJS representative explained the difference between outward religious practices and
true spiritual realization. While rituals like Gau Puja and Yajna create a positive environment, they
must be complemented with inner transformation. When a devotee engaged in Kamdhenu Seva
receives Brahm Gyan, the perspective changes. Service is no longer duty but devotion. Gau Seva is not just an act of care; it purifies the mind, dissolves the ego, and awakens inner sensitivity. Kamdhenu is not just about cow protection; it is about human transformation, where service blossoms into spirituality under the compassionate grace of the Perfect Master.
